Presiding Elder Lloyd W. McKenzie, Jr.

 

Presiding Elder Lloyd W. McKenzie, Jr. is a native of Brownsville, Pennsylvania. He is a father of three children, Lloyd W. McKenzie III, Michael Ryan McKenzie, and Lauren Lynese McKenzie and a spiritual father and mentor of many.

 

Presiding Elder McKenzie completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He then continued is studies in theological training at the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland Tennessee. Outside of pastoral ministry, he is engaged in the Information Technology industry and is currently a Senior Managing Consultant with GENPACT Process Solutions, LLC.

 

 

 

The pastoral ministry began in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1976, where he remained through 1982, before relocating to Connecticut. Presiding Elder McKenzie served the United Church of Christ in Hartford, Connecticut until joining the AME Zion Church under the mentorship of Bishop Alfred E. White.   

 

In 1993 Presiding Elder McKenzie was named pastor of Archer Memorial A.M.E. Zion church in Windsor, Connecticut, where he served until 1998. He and his family relocated to the Midwest where he pastored St. Matthew A.M.E. Zion church in Kansas City, Missouri, until June of 2007.

 

Upon returning to New England, Presiding Elder McKenzie served the Columbus Avenue AME Zion Church, in Boston MA. from September 2007 to June 2010. In June 2010 to June 2014, Presiding Elder McKenzie pastored The Mount Pleasant AME Zion Church in Danbury Connecticut. 

 

Presiding Elder Lloyd W. McKenzie, Jr. was appointed over the Boston District AME Zion Churches in June 2014. The passion that pushes Presiding Elder is Strengthening His Kingdom and Serving His People.
